This is one social message that we were introduced to by the “Shades of India” at their “Oona” collection launch.

We were truly impressed to have witnessed someone in India taking up a collection launch which has a Delicate yet Bold theme. Shades of India weaved a story around the theme where there are two women, two souls who explore an intimate bond between themselves and express themselves for being a joy to be a part each other.

About the “Oona” Collection through our eyes

The collection is called Oona which means “Being one”. Shades of India’s clothing is so soft and sensual that it instantly becomes a part of you. And when you’ve worn it, you’ll feel absolutely in peace, feel one… completely liberated!

We personally picked up this kurta and skirt that gives a fine fusion look. The free flowing fabrics of fine silks and chanderi with detailed delicate embroideries give a surreal contentment. The Vibrant colors of the clothing, the traditionally designed accessories from a Potli bag to the beautiful Bracelet and the Neck pieces are all to drool for.

Our personal pick is the sensual drape of fine silk that shades of India has come up with.

Led by Mandeep Nagi (Design Director), Shades of India the inspiring workmanship of traditional craft. She quoted in an exclusive interaction with our team saying , ” The collection has all the feel and fabric since we are getting into a festive season.”. Upon asking about to coming out in support to the Delicate yet bold LGBT theme with her Oona Collection, she added ” I do support the LGBT  and you can say a women does not have to be an LGBT to be a supportive one. I like to do things which normally would not get acceptance  by the general society.. the society has to see that they also exist.”

Her social message for fashion: “Fashion is not about clothes, its about the peace within yourself and how you good feel from within. Its not about what’s shown on the ramp but its about your own self”
